Forklift Operator Safety Awareness
Our Forklift Operator Safety Awareness
training covers OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and NFPA guidelines concerning forklift safety. Designed to be concise yet thorough, the course is approximately three hours followed by hands on evaluations. The training will provide your forklift operators knowledge to become safer on the job.
The course consists of two phases:
Formal Classroom Training
– Informative and entertaining face-to-face instruction is reinforced with projected animated slides and a printed manual for each participant. A written exam is given at the end of class.
Hands-on Evaluation
– Each operator must operate the actual equipment they normally use in the environment where they normally do so.
Formal training plus site and equipment specific evaluation is required by
OSHA Regulation 1910.178 (l) (2) (ii).

Powered industrial trucks (forklifts) continue to be in OSHA’s yearly top ten violations list. Frequent violations include initial training, refresher training, unsafe equipment, and unauthorized attachments.
Ensure that your forklift has a legible and correct capacity plate, a working horn and seat belt, no fluid leaks, nothing on the overhead guard that obstructs vision, and a load backrest attached.
Operators must be trained when hired, every three years, and if involved in a near miss or unsafe behavior is observed.
Operators must be trained and evaluated on each class or type of equipment they use. For example, a class 4 forklift operator can only operate a class 3 motorized pallet jack if they have had training and been evaluated on that equipment.
Our training covers all aspects of forklift safety and is also tailored to the types of forklifts your employees operate.
Following the training we provide all training records including test scores and evaluation notes, certificates, and wallet cards as PDF copies. Color, printed copies of the full class and individual certificates and laminated wallet cards will be mailed.
